sonny's arsenal by demon-rae sonny's arsenal by demon-rae
So if you've ever wondered just what a huge marker fiend I am....now you know. Should be somewhere around 375 markers here, give or take, not including refills.

It's only taken me...pfft, 5 years or so to gather them? XD I will have the entire copic collection one day..one day....

Life is better when I've a marker in hand.

Prismas are great ESPECIALLY since prismacolor put out their own brush markers. They're much cheaper than copics (you can find them online for about 2 bucks a pop) The only downside to prismas vs copics is that they smell worse and aren't refillable, but in my opinion you get more juice out of a single prismacolor marker than you do a copic so the need to refill isn't quite as dire.

You like prismas to? I love them, although when I'm done collecting them I'm going to get copics.

Wow you're one of the few people who seem to like prismas a lot too. Most people always tell me that copics are way better, and I understand part of what they mean since I have a few copics just for skin tones. But in all honesty, I love how you have more control with the prismas even if you can't the same kind of blending or whispy lines. The way the thick ends of the copics "scratches" against the paper drives me crazy.

Kurecolors hum? Never used those before :3

It definately takes a while to build up a good arsenal, especially when you have to go back and start buying refills for the ones you've used *needs refills for at least 15 colors atm* I think when I started out I had a greyscale set of prismas, and 5 or 6 trias XD

How would you compare copics to prismacolours though? I've never used the Prismacolour marks but I swear by their pencilcrayons so...

They don't blend quite as well as copics because they lack the brush tip, and they smell alot worse. I used to hate prismacolor markers, but I find that it's easier to lay out solid colors with them than it is copics, and prismas have alot of really bright saturated colors. They make a nice accomplice to copics but I don't think I'd ever use straight up prismacolors.

I love their pencils too, but mine get neglected, and the prismacolor fineliners have become my favorite inking pen <3

uh-ho, smelly markers? xD
I hafta say, getting copics to look nice and solid for me sometimes is a challenge :T Very streaky >_>;

Perhaps I'll pick up a few colours and try them out...
Thnk you for sharing!<3

heh, now I don't feel so bad that it took me 2 years to get 187 copic markers, and still going slowly, but surely. Can't use any other kind because the smell makes me sick. Soooooooo envious!!!!

I think my actual copic count is pretty darn close to that XD I used to not use prismas because of the smell, and because I thought they were stupid useless markers. Prismas are my friends again, but the smell still gets to me if I use them for a really long time. Trias just have a smell all their own, but they were my favorite until they quit making the old ones and changed the tips.

I wish I could use prisma, but they also bleed so badly but I used tombow when I finally found them. It took me forever to convince my local art store to carry copic (they finally did it when an art teacher at a local college asked them) and now the owner will actually order the specific colors I want and even specific ink refills. I haven't used them for a while, since I'm focusing on jewelry right now, but I still love them and keep collecting :D. keep up the excellent work!

Ah, we have the same goal. I have two sets so far, but I don't really invest in Prismas. I might pick them up again, they do have very bright, saturated colors...

I have the C and D 72 marker sets, and some extras I've picked up here and there. I really only have that many prisma markers because someone sold me a 48 set for cheap that they never really used. I used to hate those things with a passion, but they are my friends again. They're good for blocking in large areas of flat color :3

Ah, I have A and B marker sets. Plus the misc. ones I bought at a school bookstore that got me hooked on copics. I had Prismas becuase I had not yet discovered online shopping X3 and no one sold them around here. And that sounds like a good idea, using Prismas to block in colors. Well, next time I come by money, I'll try investing in a good selection.

I really like the box you keep them in. Is that just one of those oragnizer boxes you can find at Target?

The box that the copics are in is just a photo storage box that you can pick up just about anywhere that sells scrapbooking supplies (they have a lid but the markers are too tall for that, but the box works well) the others are actually in two seperate square boxes(only because I haven't gone hunting for a matching photo box) I did have them in some pretty cardboard DVD boxes I got from target, but the lids were on flaps instead of coming off completely and they tore up from the constant opening and closing (DVD boxes are actually tall enough for the markers) so I had to move them to something else. The photo box seems to work really well now, and they're pretty cheap when you find them on sale.

I saw a "friend" in japan who had the whole copic collect, actually I think she had it almost twice over, and not just the sketch, there are fat ones and fine liners, and refils and colours she had mixed herself...it took up the whole shelf, it was better than being at the store!...I was so jealous....

+carefully scuffs the pile of 50 or so markers behind him+

Aah, I want some of the wide copics :p I've considered mixing my own colors, but seriously, if the number of colors copic makes isn't enough for me I think I'm in trouble XD

I'll eventually have them all *insert maniacal laugh here*
